COSMOTE Romania offers crystal clear communication through HD Voice

Starting today, COSMOTE Romania's customers can feel and live each conversation more accurate, as they benefit of the most significant improvement in voice communications in the past two decades: HD Voice technology, enabling a crystal clear audio quality and enhanced end-user experience, by better differentiation of speech from background noise, improving the call accuracy.

"The HD Voice telephony standard not only enhances the clarity and naturalness of speech, but also adds a sense of transparent communication, facilitating the voice recognition of the person talking to you. Also, the technology offers a better sound differentiation. The customers can now experience a significant improvement in their voice communications as the new service provides a much richer remote interaction that is even capable of delivering emotion by bringing a higher sense of closeness between callers”, said Panos Makris, Chief Commercial Officer COSMOTE Romania. 

COSMOTE Romania's customers using an HD Voice compatible device can experience deeper sound clarity, highly reduced background noise and even the sense that the person they are talking to is in the same room. To enjoy the maximum benefits of this new technology, both the calling and the called party need an HD-Voice compatible mobile phone, the calls being done through the 3G technology.

HD Voice service is available nationwide for on-net calls through 3G technology, COSMOTE Romania's portfolio currently including 25 models of compatible devices, such as Apple, Nokia, Sony, HTC, LG smartphones. At end-March, COSMOTE Romania was offering mobile broadband download speeds of up to 43.2 Mbps in 159 cities and approximately 900 localities across Romania, covering 47% of the population. Moreover, customers could enjoy speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps in HSPA+ technology in 189 cities across the country. Overall, 3G services cover more than 73% of the Romanian population.
