National Bank of Romania: a gold coin dedicated to The History of Gold - The Cross from Garvan Dinogetia.

Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, on 22 December 2011, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a gold coin dedicated to The History of Gold - The Cross from Garvan Dinogetia. 

The gold coin has the following characteristics:            

face value:	lei 10
metal:	gold
fineness:	999‰
shape:	round
diameter:	13.92 mm
weight:	1.224 g
quality:	proof
edge:	milled

Obverse: "ROMANIA” inscribed in an arc, the coat of arms of Romania, the face value "10 LEI”; a depiction of the clasp and part of the chain of the cross from Garvan Dinogetia as well as the year of issue "2011”.

Reverse: the depiction of the cross from Garvan Dinogetia; "CRUCEA DE LA GARVAN DINOGETIA” inscribed in an arc; on the outer ring, the chain of the cross. 

The coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Head Cashier of the National Bank of Romania. 

The mintage of this numismatic issue is 500. 

The selling price of the gold coin in the numismatic issue dedicated to The History of Gold - The Cross from Garvan Dinogetia is lei 435.00, excluding VAT.

The gold coin dedicated to The History of Gold - The Cross from Garvan Dinogetia is legal tender in Romania.

The gold coin dedicated to The History of Gold - The Cross from Garvan Dinogetia will be put into circulation for numismatic purposes through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi and Timisoara.
