Deloitte Balkans announces new Office Managing Partner

Ahmed Hassan, Audit Partner in Charge and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deloitte Central Europe (DCE), has recently been appointed Office Managing Partner of Deloitte Balkans, the cluster including Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova Republic, Albania and Kosovo. He has also assumed the Country Leader position for Romania and Moldova.
Mr. Hassan, aged 43, has been working for Deloitte in Romania since 1999 and has been a partner for 9 years. He was the first Partner from the Balkans to be part of the DCE Board and the first Chairman of the Board coming from this region (starting January 1, 2009).
Following the new responsibilities within the Balkan cluster, Mr. Hassan has already stepped down from the Audit Partner in Charge position for the Balkans that has been taken over by Sylvia Peneva from Deloitte Bulgaria. His responsibilities as DCE Chairman of Board will end as of December 31st 2011.
As Office Managing Partner for the Balkan cluster, Mr. Hassan will coordinate Deloitte offices' activities within different departments, develop and lead business strategies and ensure high quality services to the Firm's clients.

Deloitte Balkans is one of the five clusters of Deloitte Central Europe, alongside Deloitte Adria, Deloitte Czech Republic & Slovakia, Deloitte Hungary and Deloitte Poland & Baltics. The Balkan cluster currently employs 655 professionals and is led by 13 Partners, including 3 Partners in Charge. The Firm provides audit, tax, consulting, and financial advisory services to public and private clients spanning multiple industries.
