FinMin: Austerity measures are needed, at the moment
Publish date: 16-06-2010The austerity measures regarding the drop in the budget expenditures, the Government proposed, are required at the moment, and the single ones that can bring the balance Romania needs, Finance Minister Sebastian Vladescu said at the Parliament's Palace.
'Irrespectively of the street pressure, Romania has been facing a serious economic situation. I am absolutely positive that all the Romanian citizens, view such measures as necessary, at the moment, and the sole ones that can bring us the balance, today,' FinMin Vladescu stressed.
At the moment, the Romanian economy cannot pay incomes at the level of the year 2008, because it has been constantly decreasing since the last quarter of 2008, FinMin Vladescu explained. Keeping the taxes at the current level, however, is one of the strongest steps to back up the economy, FinMin Vladescu emphasized.
