Labor productivity in industry increases in January by 27.8 pct
Publish date: 24-03-2010Labor productivity in industry increased in Jan. 2010 by 27.8 percent from Jan. 2009 on the backdrop of a productivity jump of 29.9 percent in processing industry, according to data published on Monday by the National Statistics Institute (INS). Labor productivity dropped in Jan. 2020 by 1.6 percent on Jan. 2009 in the extractive industry. In Dec. 2009, labor productivity in industry declined by 35.4 percent compared to the last month of 2008.
Over March 2009 - Jan. 2010 labor productivity advanced each month as against the corresponding month a year earlier, at monthly paces ranging between 5.7 percent and 35.4 percent, on the backdrop of redundancies made by companies.Compared to Dec. 2009 labor productivity in industry dropped in Jan. 2010 by 3.3 percent. Industrial output rose in Jan. 2010 from the similar month a year earlier by 6.9 percent (gross series) and by 7.1 percent (adjusted series based on the number of the working days and seasonal adjustments).
