How much money does the State make out of concessions and farming leaseUpdated: 03-03-2010 | Economy

The income of ADS ( the agency for state domains) diminished last year by 24% at 78.6 million lei, as compared to the previous year when the institution had incomes of 103.5 million lei, according to the data offered by ADS. ADS gets monely from such activities as concessions and farming lease, company selling and sanitary-veterinary surgeries offices. According to the agency data, the income from concessions and farming lease dropped last year by 17.9% at 65.4 million lei, after 2008 when they reached 79.7 million lei, NewsIn announced.

"Income was lower in 2009 as a result of the diminishing of concession surface and the drop in wheat quotation, by 50%, on the London Stock Exchange, used for royalties" the ADS data show.

Thus, the contracted surface between 2000 - 2009 dropped at 282.94 ha, against 284.272,23 ha between 2000 - 2008. " The surfaces between 2000 - 2009 are smaller due to giving the land back to former owners, according to the law" ADS said.
The agency is a specialised institution which performs the privatisation of companies with agricultural profile, set up according to law n0 15/1990 and the concession of land with agricultural destination, public property and private property of the state, administered by those companies. ADS was set up through law no.268/2001 as an institution of public interest, with financial and commercial character, governed by the ministry of agriculture and rural development (MADR).
