Senate approved fast-track ratification of bill on Nabucco Project Agreement
Publish date: 03-03-2010The Senators approved on Monday the ratification in a fast-track procedure of the bill on the Agreement among the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Hungary, Romania and the Republic of Turkey on the Nabucco Project, signed on July 3, 2009 in Ankara, Turkey, and which already cleared the Chamber of Deputies. The bill passed by a vote of 76 to nil, with no abstention. The Agreement is an international multilateral juridical instrument concluded at government level and which - given its regulatory scope - is subject to the provisions of Art. 19, Para. 1, letter a) of Law No. 590/2003 on treaties. The bill belongs to the category of ordinary laws, with the Chamber of Deputies being the first House to be notified, Agerpres reports.
