Number of attested traditional products grew by 38% in 2009
Publish date: 10-02-2010The number of attested traditional products grew in 2009 by 37.7% to 449, compared to 2008, while the number of traditional economic operators grew from 89 in 2008 to 115, according to data supplied by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. In 2008, 326 food products were attested as traditional and 89 economic operators were registered.According to the Ministry of Agriculture, products from several domains were attested last year: milk and dairy products, meat, fish, bread and bakery products, canned fruit and vegetables, vegetal oil and alcoholic beverages. "The highest share is that of dairy products, followed by products from meat, bread and bakery products", MADP data show.
