PM Boc calls for passage of 2010 State budget and Social security Law in Parliament
Publish date: 12-01-2010Addressing the Parliament plenary meeting, Prime Minister Emil Boc called on the lawmakers to pass the 2010 State Budget and Social security Law, stressing that this is the most important legislative act for the design of future investment policies.
The head of the government thanked the MPs for the debates held in the expert committees on this year's budget blueprint, terming them as meaningful.
"We are not here to sell illusions to the Romanians. Until 2012 we will not hesitate to take the measures the country needs," Boc said when having the floor.
Convened in a plenary meeting the Parliament started Monday afternoon general debates on the 2010 State Budget and Social security Law.
Prime Minister Emil Boc and government members attend the joint sitting of the 406 deputies and Senators.
The state budget and the social security budget should be adopted by the end of this week, given that an IMF mission is expected in Bucharest next week.
