Hilton intends to expand outside Bucharest

The Hilton Worldwide hotel group is bringing the first "economy" brand in its portfolio, Hampton by Hilton, to Romania, to be launched outside Bucharest, company officials announced yesterday.

The hotel, which most likely will be classed as three-star, will be opened in Brasov in mid-2011, and will compete with the Ibis and Express by Holiday Inn chains, said Mike Collini, the group's Development Vice President for Northern Europe. The Brasov Hampton hotel will be the third in Europe under this brand.
