Unemployment rate climbs 6.9 percent this Sept
Publish date: 09-10-2009The unemployment rate rose this Sept by 0.3 percent, up to 6.9 percent, vs 6.6 percent in Aug 2009 and 3.9 percent in the same month of last year, announces the National Employment Agency.
The total number of unemployed registered in the lists of the county employment agencies stood at 625,140 people, from them 276,444 are women.
The unemployment rate was under the percentage reported at national level in Bucharest (two percent), and the highest unemployment rate was registered in the county of Mehedinti (12.8 percent).
Of the total of the registered unemployed at national level, 341,941 are paid benefits, and 283,1999 are not. Also, the unemployment rate among women stood at 6.5 percent
