Statistics: New orders in industry down by almost 21 percent
Publish date: 08-10-2009The new orders in industry went down by 20.8 percent in all, compared with the similar period of 2008, because of the falls in the industry of intermediary goods (minus 40.9 percent), the industry of durables (minus 21.5 percent), and the industry of consumer goods (minus 10.6 percent), according to data from the National Statistics Institute, INS.
It is only the industry of capital goods that went up 0.8 percent, in the first eight months of this year.
According to INS, in the months of August the new orders in industry reported a fall of 13.7 percent, compared with the previous month on the total of the domestic and foreign market and by 19.6 percent, compared with the same month last year.
On big industrial groups, there was a fall of 13.7 percent vs the previous month, in all, in the domestic and foreign markets, and of 19.6 percent compared with the same month last year.
On big industrial groups, there were drops this August vs the previous month, in all the sectors: the industry of intermediate goods (minus 22.1 percent), the industry of consumer goods (minus 16.9 percent), the industry of capital goods (minus 6.2 percent) and the industry of durables (minus 4.3 percent).
Compared with Aug 2008, the new orders in industry fell because of the drops in the industry of intermediate goods (minus 36.8 percent), the industry of consumer goods (minus 14.3 percent), the industry of capital goods (minus 4.6 percent). The industry of durables rose two percent this August, compared with the same period in 2008, Agerpres informs.
