The BSE drops 1.5% at closing bell, in line with the external markets, the SIFs slip 0.78%

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) fell 1.5 percent on closing, linked to the negative evolution of the external markets, but the five financial companies known as SIF lost only 0.78 percent, being protected by speculations on removing the 1 percent ownership threshold.

Liquidity amounted to 22 million lei at day-end.

The BET index reflecting the evolution of the ten best companies on the market lowered 1.94 percent to 4,291.75 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares minus financial companies dipped 1.5 percent to 2,520.13.

The BET-FI index of the five SIFs eased 0.78 percent to 23,761.26 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna tumbled 1.99 percent to 9,026.33.

The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid companies reduced 1.42 percent to 429.05 and the BET-NG index showing the evolution of the power market plummeted 1.98 percent to 558.14.

In Europe, the FTSE index in London went down 0.57 percent to 4,982.74 and the DAX index in Frankfurt dropped 0.94 percent to 5,571.18. The CAC40 index in Paris slipped 0.97 percent to 3,698.48.

Shares of SIF Oltenia (SIF5) idled at 1.21 lei on deals of 4.19 million lei and those of SIF Moldova (SIF2) depreciated 0.92 percent to 1.08 lei.
