Number Of Tourists Entering Romania In July Dn 10.9% YYUpdated: 04-09-2009 |
The number of tourists entering Romania was 10.9% lower in July compared with the same month a year before, while the number of tourists accommodated was down 14.9% on the year, the National Statistical Institute, or INS, said Thursday.
The number of foreign tourists that entered Romania in July was 18.6% lower compared with July 2008, INS release reads.
Most of foreign visitors, representing 94.9%, come from European countries, while 63.5% come from EU member states. Hungary accounts for the highest number of tourists who entered Romania, with 37.7%, followed by Bulgaria with 19.2%, Germany, with 9.1%, and Italy - 7.8%.
The number of Romanian tourists traveling abroad in July was down 14.8% compared with the same month a year before.
According to the INS release, the number of tourists entering Romania in January-July period was down 13.6% compared with the same period a year ago.
