Real estate transactions dropped 35 pc
Publish date: 13-08-2009The number of dwelling and land transactions dropped 34.8 per cent in the first half year, vs. the same period of the past year, to 162,724 operations, Mediafax informs. Moreover, the value of the taxes on the revenues derived from the transfer of properties declined by 63 per cent, to RON 214.3 M, according to the data of the public notaries.
A number of 162,724 transactions were concluded in the first six months of the year, vs. 249,792 transactions in the same period of the past year, according to the data transmitted yesterday by the National Union of the Public Notaries from Romania (UNNPR). 30 per cent fewer transactions, namely 28,228 operations, were concluded in June 2009 compared to the same period of the past year, from 40,383.
On another hand, 475 fewer transactions were concluded last June against the previous month. As a result of the fall of the number of transactions from January-June, and also of the decline of prices, both on the residential and land markets, the value of the taxes on the revenues from the transfer of the real estate properties in this period decreased by 63 per cent, to RON 214.3 M. The taxes cashed from the revenues from transactions with dwellings and lands in the first half of the past year totaled RON 585.5 M. The tax is between 1 and 3 per cent, subject to the value of the property and the date when it was acquired.
