The amount of delayed VAT reimbursements to companies rose 30 pc
Publish date: 15-07-2009The balance of the delayed reimbursements of VAT to companies increased 30 per cent in June vs. the previous month, to RON 2.54 bln, in the context in which the weight of the payments made within the legal deadline continued to decrease reaching 24.8 per cent, according to ANAF data, Mediafax informs. Thus, of the total amount to be reimbursed, of RON 4.29 bln, the delayed reimbursements accounted for 59.3 per cent, while the suspended payments were 16 per cent.
At the same time, the total number of companies which were not reimbursed the VAT within the legal deadline of 45days increased in June by 42 per cent, from 2,185 to 3,108. The reimbursement to most of the firms, respectively 1,420, was delayed by 30 days at most against the legal period. The sum that the state must reimburse to these firms rose to RON 718 M. The value of the reimbursements delayed over one year has decreased slightly against the previous month, from RON 116 M to RON 107 M.
The reimbursements unpaid for 31-60 days after the legal deadline amounted to RON 442 M, those unpaid for 61-90 days amounted to RON 270 M, while the value of those unpaid for 91-180 days was RON 671 M. The Finance Ministry paid on Monday the first tranche, of RON 127.9 M, representing delayed reimbursements to 1,205 companies, and paid RON 31 M as reimbursements, which draw near the legal deadline of 45 days, to 285 firms.
The VAT reimbursements will be announced on a monthly basis, the settlements being made on fixed days, namely on the 4th, 24th and 29th days of each month. Thus, on the 4th day will be reimbursed 20 per cent of the sum stipulated for the respective month, in the 24th will be reimbursed 30 per cent of the total, and on the 29th day will be repaid half of the value.
For July, the total value of the VAT reimbursements is RON 982 M, meaning RON 718.7 M effective reimbursement, RON 223.8 M full compensation, and 40.4 M partial compensation. The amount of RON 718.7 M will be returned in a proportion of 80 per cent for the settlement of the debts older than 45 days, RON 633.6 M (1,837 settlements), and 20 per cent for the new settlements which are about to exceed the legal reimbursement deadline, meaning RON 85 M (553 settlements).
