Romanian Ruling Coalition Parties Tie, Ind Candidate And Far-Rightists Get EP Seats - Exit Polls

Romanian social democrats secured the most votes at the EP elections Sunday, 30.7%, followed by democrat liberals with 30.4%, liberals with 15.4%, the Hungarian minority party with 10.4%.

The far rightist Greater Romania Party secured 6.8% and independent Elena Basescu secured 3.6%, according to an exit-poll conducted by CCSB for Antena 3.

The ruling coalition parties, are neck in neck with 10 EP seats each, liberals will get five seats, the Hungarian minority party - four seats, the far-right Greater Romania party will get two seats and the president's daughter, Elena Basescu, also secured one seat.

According to an exit poll conducted by INSOMAR for Realitatea TV, social democrats secured 31% of votes in the EP elections Sunday, followed by democrat liberals with 30.4%, liberals with 16.6%, the Hungarian minority party with 9.1%, the far rightist Greater Romania Party secured 7.2 %, while independent candidate Elena Basescu got 3.4%.
