Moldovan Ambassador To Romania, Called For Discussions In Chisinau
Publish date: 08-04-2009The Moldovan Ambassador to Romania, Lidia Gutu, has been summoned to Chisinau for discussions on Tuesday's riots, the Moldovan Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) announced, cited by BASA press.
"Regarding recent events in our capital, MAEIE has called Ambassador Lidia Gutu to Chisinau for discussions," the statement said.
The Tuesday demonstrations in Chisinau turned to violent protests, as protesters seized the headquarters of the Parliament and the Presidency. Following elections Sunday, the ruling Moldovan Communist Party obtained the majority votes in Parliament, but the opposition disputes the result.
