Top managers willing to help Romania overcome the crisis
Publish date: 26-02-2009"This real partnership between the Romanian government and the business environment will provide solutions for the re-launching of the economy. I believe in this partnership, and the proposed measures will be carefully analyzed by the government," said Prime Minister Emil Boc, when he received the document containing the recommendations of businesspeople, involved in the Business Standard- initiated "Private Government" project.
Boc indicated that Romania is at the end of the first stage of the process for countering the effects of the economic crisis, through the adoption of the state budget, and explained that some of the measures proposed by the business environment have already been taken into consideration by the government.
"Nobody knows the perfect solution for the crisis. Some of the recommendations have already been included in the budget, but the anti-crisis measure package will be adjusted along the way, based on the evolution of the economic situation," Boc added. According to Romania's Prime Minister, the public liquidity infusion is very important, considering that private investments in the economy declined, due to the crisis. Consequently, the government allocated over €10 billion for investments through the budget. Boc added that, before every weekly session, the government analyzes the situation of public investments included in this year's draft budget, together with the stage of attraction of European funds.
