1,500 euros - Bucharesters' average salary
Publish date: 10-10-2008Private sector employees in Bucharest and the surrounding Ilfov county earn 1,450 euros in gross salary each month, 120% more than employees in companies that operate in North-Eastern Romania and 30% more than those in the Western part of Romania, the second-ranking region in terms of earnings, with a gross monthly salary of 1,125 euros, reveals data from the Total Remunerations Survey conducted by Mercer, one of the largest human resources consulting companies worldwide.
Only employees in Bucharest-Ilfov, in Eastern, Western, South-Western and Southern Romania have gross monthly salaries worth over 1,000 euros per month. The lowest earnings are recorded in the North-Eastern part of Romania - Dorohoi, Botosani, Piatra Neamt - with an average gross monthly salary of 660 euros, followed by the South-East, with 680 euros.
