Romania Fin Min Sees '08 Econ Growth At 8%
Publish date: 10-09-2008Romania's economy and finance minister Varujan Vosganian said Tuesday that the country's economic growth will likely be 8% at the end of the year.
Romania's economy grew 8.8% in the first half of the year, boosted by a robust 9.3% increase in gross domestic product in the second quarter, following a good farming year, analysts said.
On Monday, Romanian central bank Governor Mugur Isarescu said there is limited risk of a "hard landing" for the economy, and that he expects economic growth of around 6% in the coming years.
