Romania's top lender BCR targets 500,000 users for its current account package by the end of 2008

Romania's largest bank by assets, Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), aims to reach about 500,000 users of its current account package at the end of the year, one of the lender's managers announced.
BCR also estimates to attract 400,000 more clients for its current account services in 2009.
The number of users of the current account package stood at 35,200 last year and reached 201,000 after the first semester of 2008.
Debit cards and current account service in lei are BCR's most used products
The most often products and services used by BCR's clients are the debit cards (41 percent) and the current accounts in lei (35 percent), according to an annual report carried out by GFK Customer Research for BCR.
Some 27 percent of the clients who participated in the research have accessed BCR's credits for personal needs and 16 percent chose the bank's credit cards. About 4 percent of the clients use the overdraft service.
Most of the users of the current account package are aged between 30 and 40. About 19 percent are men and some 14 percent are women. This category is followed by users under 30, with 14.54 percent male clients and 9.84 percent female clients.
