Temporary employees are a lower-cost solution to cover a lack of personnel which small and medium-sized companies face during the holiday period.

A permanent employee costs far more, and would only be productive in certain periods of the year. Temporary workers can also be used in the case of an increase in volume of activity or in the case of specific projects. Areas in which such an option is used are production, logistics, telecommunications, construction, services, advisory, HR, and project management, say human resource specialists.
