Romania's Competition Regulator Looks Into Romgaz' Alleged Antitrust Practices
Publish date: 04-08-2008Romania's Competition Council is looking into a potential breach of competition rules by Romania's largest natural gas producer Romgaz Medias in its relation with Targu Mures-based chemical fertilizer maker Azomures.
"The investigation as open following the complaint submitted by (chemical fertilizer maker) Amonil Slobozia signaling a potential breach of competition rules in the sale and purchase of natural gas between Romgaz and Azomures," the competition watchdog said.
Contacted by MEDIAFAX, Romgaz officials said they received no notice regarding the investigation.
"Romgaz hasn't received any notification from the Competition Council or Amonil Slobozia regarding a potential breach of the competition law," Romgaz officials said.
