Romania to adopt the euro within seven years

Leonard Orban, European Commissioner for Multilingualism, told Realitatea TV that Romanians will pay for all their shopping in euro within seven years.

In that period the European Union will help Romania in its program to switch to the euro.

Orban said that the European Commission will shortly present its position not only on the manner in which Romania will adopt the European currency, but also on Romania's budget, fiscal and general macroeconomic policies.
