EUR950 Tax On Euro 4 Cars In Romania
Publish date: 24-01-2008The value of the Romanian car first registration tax for cars will hike two-three times for new Euro 4 cars, namely EUR420 for 1400 cubic centimeters, EUR480 at 1600 cubic centimeters and EUR950 at 1900 cubic centimeters, but it will also drop ten times for 14-15 year old Euro 1 cars, between EUR323 and EUR652.
For a new Euro 4 car with and engine of at most 1400 cubic centimeters, the car tax will hike 2.6 times, from EUR161 to EUR420, while for the same type of car, but with age between one and three months, the tax goes from EUR161 to EUR403, according to propositions that the Government sent to the European Commission.
The hike applied to the current tax drops with the age of the Euro 4 car, cylinder volume of 1400, from EUR161 to EUR391 (age 3-6 months), from EUR161 to EUR378 (age 6-9 months) and from EUR284 to EUR344 (age 1-2 years).
For cars of this type, but with greater age, the car tax will slightly drop compared to the current level, from EUR328 to EUR315 (age 2-3 years), from EUR328 to EUR290 (age 3-4 years) and from EUR299 to EUR265 (age 4-5 years).
For a new Euro 4 car with 1400-1600 cubic centimeter engines, the car tax will climb 2.6 times, from EUR184 to EUR480, while for the same type of car, but with and age between 1 and 3 months, the sum paid will go from EUR184 to EUR461. In the same category, cars with ages between 3 and 6 month will be taxed with EUR446, compared to the current EUR184, while the tax will go from EUR184 to EUR432 (age 6-9 months) and from EUR324 to EUR394 (age 1-2 years).
A for lower capacities, the tax drops for Euro 4 cars with cylinder volumes between 1400 and 1600 cubic centimeters, older than two years, from EUR375 to EUR360 (age 2-3 years), from EUR375 to EUR331 (age 3-4 years) and from EUR342 to EUR302 (age 4-5 years).
For a new Euro 4 car with cylinder volumes between 1600 and 1900 cubic centimeters, the car tax almost doubles, from EUR509 to EUR950, hwile a similar hike was applied for cars aged 1-3 months, from EUR509 to EUR912. A higher tax will be paid for cars aged 3-6 months, from EUR509 to EUR884, and 6-9 months, from EUR509 to EUR855.
For engines with an Euro 3 catalyst of 1400 de cubic centimeters, the tax will climb only or cars aged 1-2 years, from EUR945 to EUR1148. For cars aged 2-3 years, the tax will drop from EUR1,095 to EUR1,050, at age 3-4 years from EUR1,095 to EUR966, and for cars aged 4-5 years from EUR998 to EUR882.
The new grid will set much lower taxes for most cars fitted with Euro 2 engines, this including cars older than 6-7 years. An exception I found in engines over 3001 cubic centimeters, where there might even be hikes.
Thus, for Euro 2 cars with up to 1400 cubic centimeters, the tax drops 2-3 times, from EUR2,604 to EUR1,386 (age 7-8 years), from EUR2,604 to EUR1,201 (age 8-9 years), from EUR2,604 to EUR1,047 (9-10 years) and from EUR2,604 to EUR832 (10-11 years).
The greatest drop will be registered in taxes applied to cars with Euro1 and non-Euro engines, which is also due to the fact that they are the oldest.
