Yahoo! has a larger audience than many Romanian TV stations
Publish date: 23-01-2008Yahoo! Messenger generates one billion hits every month, with 142 hits per user, according to Mediacafe, exclusive representative of Yahoo! in Romania.
"Yahoo! definitely has a wider local reach than many TV stations. The comparison between the internet and TV is logical now seen in terms of cost, reach and efficiency," according to a statement for Business Standard by Mediacafe Manager, Mihai Fanache.
Fanache explained that the minimum budget for a publicity campaign in the Yahoo! network has dropped to €3,000 from a previous €8,500, which buy 500,000-1,000,000 hits. He added that the Yahoo! network makres up 75-80 percent of Mediacafe's business.
"We focus on as compact a set of products as possible, with Yahoo! Already covering the audience of all other sites represented to date. We presently manage to successfully cover a wide audience, in fact the largest represented by an online agency," Fanache said.
Mediacafe's Manager went on to say that the company is also studying the possibility and costs to include the Hi5 network in its portfolio this year.
Yahoo! Mail is accessed monthly by 8.6 million single users, and Yahoo! Messenger by 7.3 million users.
According to InternetWorldStats there are 7 million internet users in Romania.
