Romania's international reserves, above 27 bln euros on December 31

Romania's international reserves amounted at 27.19 billion euros on December 31, 2007 Romania's National Bank announced on Friday.

Foreign currency liquidity totalled 25.307 billion euros and the gold reserves, of 103.7 tons, were in the value of 1.879 billion euros, according to a Central Bank release.

The international reserves declined by 134 million euros, foreign currency outflows exceeding the inflows. The inflows totalled 268.1 million euros and outflows 402.1 million euros, representing installment payments and interest payments servicing for the foreign public debt guaranteed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) as well as payments made into the European Commission's accounts.

Direct foreign public debt's due payments in 2008, MEF guaranteed, will total 1.837 billion euros.
