Romania: BNR Governor borrows EUR 200,000 from Volksbank
Publish date: 06-12-2007Mugur Isarescu, Governor of the Romanian National Bank, has borrowed some EUR 200,000 from Volksbank, for a mortgage, according to the declaration of wealth by Romania’s top banker, Business Standard daily reports.
According to the same declaration, Isarescu opted for a ten-year maturity, with the loan due in 2016.
In spite of recommendations for savings in lei, the BNR Governor’s savings are equitably divided into lei and euro, at some €33,000 deposited in various banks and RON 112,000 in Romanian banks in his name.
