Average net wage up by 4.2 pc in October

The average net income has rose in October by 4.2 per cent up to RON 1,084, according to the data published yesterday by the National Statistics Institute (INS). If until now the financial intermediation employees benefited from the largest wages, the 10th month of the year has seen the air transport employees ranking first in that table. The latter won an average wage of RON 2,786. A drop of 17.7 per cent in the financial intermediary sector wages constituted a surprise.
The wood processing employees are at the opposite extreme, with a net average wage of only RON 631. According to INS, the health system, the education system and the public administration have registered significant wage rises.
Thus, the net average wage within the health and social assistance system has grown by 17.2 per cent in October, the one in the education system has grown by 15.9 per cent in the same period, while the one in the public administration has grown by 5.2 per cent.
Energy resources drop, demand grows
Romania’s energy resources are diminishing year by year, as shown by the INS data.
In the first ten months of the year, both the primary and electrical energy resources have dropped by 2 and respectively 3.2 per cent compared to the same period in 2006. The main primary energy resources have totaled 33,730,400 tones of equivalent oil (toe), a fall of over 680,000 toe.
The internal production totaled 19,617,600 toe registering a drop compared with the same period last year. Imports also dropped by 1.9 per cent to 14,112,800 toe.
The electric energy resources have surpassed 50 bln KWh in the January to October period, dropping by 3.2 per cent compared with the level registered in the same period last year. At the same time, the electric energy export has fallen by a considerable 39.4 per cent.
