Delta Air Lines Starts Nonstop Flights to Seoul and Bucharest, Continuing Its International Expansion
Publish date: 05-06-2007Delta Air Lines continues its international expansion this week with the addition of nonstop flights from Atlanta to Seoul and from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport to Bucharest.
The new flights are among 14 new international routes being launched by Delta this summer, including two inaugurated last week, from Atlanta to Dubai and from New York-JFK to Pisa. Also, Delta has announced it will increase the frequency of its recently inaugurated flight to Prague from four to five times weekly to accommodate passenger demand.
"Delta is adding international routes faster than any other global carrier, and we are very encouraged by the response to our new destinations," said Glen Hauenstein, EVP of Network and Revenue Management.
"Our new nonstop flight to Seoul will expand Delta's service to Asia and support the establishment of Incheon as one of Asia's premier hub airports," Hauenstein added. "With our new flight to Bucharest, Delta becomes the only airline to operate nonstop service between the U.S. and Romania."
The new routes will offer time-saving alternatives for business and leisure travelers. The added freight capacity to and from the U.S. will also benefit freight forwarders and cargo shippers around the world.
Delta will serve Seoul's Incheon with a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft seating up to 268 passengers and featuring Delta's refurbished business and economy class service. Flights to Bucharest will be served with a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with 214 seats.
Customers on both flights can enjoy Delta's award-winning BusinessElite service featuring all-leather sleeper seats with 60 inches of legroom, innovative food offerings designed by celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein, on-demand personal in-seat entertainment boasting more than 20 first-run and popular classic movies, a variety of TV programs, a broad range of music, and a suite of 12 video games.
