Real To Open First Outlets In Capital
Publish date: 23-02-2007German hypermarket chain Real, part of Metro, plans to open two outlets in Bucharest in 2007, its first units in the Romanian capital. The new hypermarkets, with a retail area of between 6,000 sq m and 8,000 sq m, will be opened in the second half of this year in the Vitan and Berceni areas of Bucharest. The company plans to continue its expansion in Bucharest in 2008, when it will open another two hypermarkets. It currently operates eight outlets in the country.
Real also has 370 outlets in Germany and 44 in Poland, Turkey, Russia and Romania. Other key players in the Romanian retail sector are Billa, Kaufland, Selgros, Carrefour, Altex, Cora, Domo, Flamingo and Unirea.
