Governor of Ruse district Maria Dimova promoted the initiative for starting a new direct passenger train between Ruse and Romanian capitol Bucharest.
Town of Ruse is situated on the border with Romania and the distance to Bucharest is only 70 kilometers. Citizens believe that such a connection will improve relationship between the two new EU countries.

The project was sent to Mr. Dimiter Petkov – executive of “Passenger transport” at BDZ. The train should depart from Ruse at 06:30 a.m. and from Bucharest at 5:00 p.m. At present citizens of Ruse travel on this route by the international trains Bucharest-Istanbul and Thessalonica-Budapest.
