Central European low-coster Wizz Air is offering discounted tickets for the London Luton to Bucharest Baneasa (Romania) route, in light of certain temporary SkyEurope route cancellations.

SkyEurope has said it will halt flights between Bucharest and Budapest until March 25 and Wizz Air is now offering "free" (just pay the taxes and charges) tickets for the route, as well as for several other routes from Bucharest and Targu Mures in Transylvania.

The Luton to Bucharest offer is available for travel from January 15 and the other discounted routes are as follows: Bucharest to Rome Ciampino, Barcelona and Dortmund; and Targu Mures to Budapest, Rome Ciampino and Barcelona.

Flights are available from £14 when taxes and charges are included.

SkyEurope has stressed that it is not cancelling flights on these routes, but rather removing them from the winter timetable.
