Romania's financial companies or SIF slide 0.63% on BSE at closing bell
Publish date: 08-07-2009The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) gained a slight 0.5 percent on closing underpinned by increase of Petrom shares, while the five financial companies known as SIF dipped 0.63 percent, after the Constitutional Court decided to postpone again decision regarding the ownership threshold.
Share transactions reached 7.86 million lei on BSE today and the total liquidity amounted to 15.38 million lei.
The BET index of the ten best companies on the market added 0.85 percent to 3,423.37 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares without financial companies climbed 0.48 percent to 2,094.65.
The BET-FI index of the five SIFs fell 0.63 percent to 16,086.56, while the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna increased 0.69 percent to 6,775.89.
The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid stocks went up 0.47 percent to 325.92 and the BET-NG index reflecting the evolution of the power market grew 1.42 percent to 494.88.
European bourses posted slight increases at the closing hour in Bucharest, after three days of decline, following significant climbs of mining and banking shares.
The FTSE index in London soared 0.80 percent to 4,228.44 and the DAX index in Frankfurt rose 0.43 percent to 4,672.01. The CAC40 index in Paris inched 0.06 percent to 3,084.11.
Romania's largest oil company Petrom (SNP) was the most liquid stock on the market following deals of 1.85 million lei and boosted 5.22 percent to 0.242 lei. Gas operator Transgaz Medias (TGN) eased 0.14 percent to 145 lei, on deals of 249,900 lei.
SIF Oltenia (SIF5) lowered 0.6 percent to 0.825 lei, SIF Moldova (SIF2) idled at 0.69 lei and SIF Transilvania (SIF3) lost 0.95 percent to 0.415 lei.
Fifth lender by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) dropped 0.88 percent to 1.13 lei and Romania's second bank by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) remained still at 8.15 lei, on deals of 155,050 lei.
Amonil (AMO) shares jumped 15 percent to 0.023 lei and fertilizer maker Azomures (AZO) climbed 4.64 percent to 0.248 lei.
