Ford To Make A New Small Class Car In Romania Come '10

U.S. carmaker Ford plant will make a small class car starting with 2010 in its plant in Craiova, southern Romania, and will launch a commercial vehicle with medium capacity 2011-2012, Ford Europe CEO John Fleming said Wednesday.
Fleming said the Transit Connect will be made starting next year, while in 2010 a medium class model will be launched, but this is not the new Ford Fiesta. The model will only be made in Romania, but it will be mainly destined for exports.
At the moment, Ford makes two light commercial vehicles - Transit Connect and Transit, both with a maximum weight of up to 3.5 tons - and a Transit medium class model weighing between 3.5 and 6 tons.
