Import Gas Price To Hike In Romania In 4Q '08 - E.ON Gaz
Publish date: 07-08-2008The import gas prices will hike in the last quarter of 2008, Frank Hajdinjak, president of the managing board of gas distributor E.ON Gaz Romania, the local unit of Germany's giant E.ON, said Wednesday in the central Romanian city of Targu Mures.
"Germany has already announced a 15-20% hike in the gas price. Romania will follow this path. The price of the imported natural gas will hike in the last quarter of the year, and we have already begun talks with the country's energy watchdog ANRE in this respect," Hajdinjak said.
He did not specify when the natural gas price might hike again in Romania.
E.ON Gaz Romania said it might face difficulties in covering the gas demands during winter, because the energy authority approved a lower household gas price hike compared with the company's requests.
